Trouble doing a hard reset on Samsung GT-I5500, Here is the solution proved to work.
Qn. How do to hard-reset or restore to factory settings and how to boot into recovery a Samsung GT-I5500 all solved
I have been online for almost a whole day looking for a way to hard-rest or restore a Samsung GT-I5500 but all in vain, all the key combinations i was referred to do never helped out but i found an easy way to do it with a hint i got from XDA developers website and here it is:
Caution to all:
THIS WILL ONLY HELP THOSE WHOSE PHONES:
Can boot up but for some reason can not access the menu possibly you forgot the phone's password or patten or the phone just freezes immediately you reach the home screen or for those who want to reset their phones via recovery but can not go around how to.
Requirements:- .A windows PC
- .Samsung driver pack and adb download all files here
Procedure
Extract the downloaded files to a folder.
Install the Samsung USB drivers from the folder
Switch on the phone and connect it via a USB cable to your pc make sure you select Kies connection when the phone asks when connecting.
Be sure the phone shows that debugging is enabled.
Open the ADB driver folder, hold down the SHIFT KEY on your PC + RIGHT CLICK BUTTON.
Select the "Open command window here" option
In the command window type "
adb reboot recovery"
Wait till the phone goes off.
At this point boom you are in recovery mode!!
Just use the navigation buttons up and down to select hard reset/wipe data and then clear cache
When done, Reboot
Hence you have finally hard-reset/ wiped your phone and all the previous passwords,pattens, settings and data stored on phone will be lost and for those looking for a way to boot Samsung GT-i5500 into recovery that's the only way that i personally did it, all the posts i found never helped me out.
